Iyengar yoga teachers undergo a rigorous programme of training lasting years. All of our teachers have years of teaching experience and regularly attend classes to develop their own practice and teaching.
Debbie Bartholomew
Debbie has taught Iyengar Yoga since 1994. She is a Senior Intermediate Level 3 teacher.
She teaches in Yorkshire and Lancashire. She is a regular teacher at the Manchester and District Institute of Iyengar Yoga. She brings enormous clarity and humour to her teaching.
Debbie is teaching Iyengar Yoga teachers every other Monday. The dates are as shown in the timetable section.
Sarah Izzard
Sarah Izzard has been practicing Iyengar yoga for 20 years and teaching since 2005. Sarah often travels to be instructed by senior teachers, including Mr Iyengar and his daughter Geeta Iyengar. She is one of only a few teachers who is also qualified as an osteopath. She is equally happy teaching complete beginners and people with more experience. As an osteopath Sarah is very aware of the physical and postural benefits of yoga but equally appreciates the calming and rejuvenating benefits. Sarah also teaches in Ilkley on Wednesday evenings.
Jenny Bellamy has been practising Iyengar yoga since 1980. She started teaching in 2010. She continues to study and learn with Senior teachers in the UK. She is a knowledgeable teacher who teaches with enthusiasm, humour and attention to detail.
Kate Woodcock
Kate Woodcock is an Intermediate level Iyengar Yoga teacher. She has been practicing Iyengar Yoga for 24 years and teaching since 2000. She trained with renowned senior teacher, Lilian Biggs, at the Bradford and District Iyengar Yoga Institute and continues to study with the Iyengar family and many of their senior teachers both in the UK and in Pune, India. She also studies annually with the eminent teacher, Christian Pisano, in Nice, France.
